That is tough hit for Fort Worth. Definitely not a cost saving move for Alcon to move to CH, but if the parent company is looking for geographic consolidation, there is not much the city can do.

I think you'll see more of this as long as Trump is in the White House. I work with several multinational companies, and they're running into all kinds of problems with their employees not being able to get into the United States.

Just when we've gotten used to saying "Baylor Scott & White" and almost all the signs have been updated, a new deal was announced: they're merging with Memorial Hermann from Houston. It will be next year before the deal is complete; a new name will be chosen by that time.
* 68 hospital campuses
* 1100+ clinics/care sites
* 10 million annual patient visits
* ~14,000 employees

California company moving HQ to Las Colinas amid growth, hiring surge

https://www.bizjournals.com/dallas/news ... linas.html

Another California company is moving its headquarters to the Dallas area. And this time, it’s one at the intersection of the technology and automotive industries.

DealerSocket is relocating its home base to Irving from San Clemente, California, in Orange County, according to CEO Sejal Pietrzak. The software company, which helps auto dealerships manage customer relationships and transactions, has roughly 1,000 employees overall.

The Dallas area provides some key advantages, including a talented work force, a business-friendly environment and a central location for reaching customers, she said. The moves comes after DealerSocket made three acquisitions in the North Texas area in 2015.

“It’s a great place to live and to work,” Pietrzak said. “It’s a great place to have our headquarters.”

Is this Tennessee-based public company planning to move its HQ to Dallas?

https://www.bizjournals.com/dallas/news ... allas.html

A Memphis-based public company may have its sights set on a headquarters relocation to Dallas, the business's job postings indicate.

Fred’s Inc., a general merchandise and pharmacy chain, currently has job postings on its website and on its LinkedIn for a variety of positions, including director of human resources, corporate; digital marketing manager; vice president of loss prevention; and executive administrative assistant.

The location listed for all of those jobs: Dallas.

If the company moves to Dallas, it would join a wave of corporate relocations to North Texas. At last count from the Dallas Regional Chamber, North Texas has attracted more than 120 headquarters in the last eight years.

The possibility is being reported that Six Flags, the company, is interested in acquiring part or all of SeaWorld.

Interesting article in the San Francisco Business Journal about McKesson perhaps quietly gearing up to move HQ to Las Colinas... McKesson is #6 on the Fortune 500 list. Apparently the future CEO has moved to Las Colinas.

OMG, OMFG

McKesson has been a very highly regarded company for decades, quietly and without much publicity. This would be gigantic for North Texas. Oh, maybe it'll be a second HQ. :)

There's already 2-3,000(?) in Las Colinas, so maybe if the corporate HQ is joining the U.S. Pharmaceutical Group, it'll only be a couple hundred more.

From 2017:
https://www.dallasnews.com/business/health-care/2017/04/05/new-irving-campus-healthcare-giant-mckesson-looks-add-almost-1000-employees

With new Irving campus, health care giant McKesson looks to add almost 1,000 employees
...McKesson’s new campus has capacity for about 2,400 people.
