So the over-arching guise of regionalism is starting to fracture - (transportation) DART, NCTCOG plans, (water) NTMWD, (travel) DFW & Love vs rail, and schooling (suburban students taking spots in Dallas' top magnets vs suburban schools generally better than urban). Will be interesting to see if any break apart in the next decade.
Garland, Mesquite, Plano and Richardson unite to ask for changes in water pricing that Allen, Farmersville, Forney, Frisco, McKinney, Princeton, Rockwall, Royse City and Wylie oppose. The PUC will be the ultimate arbitrator. These cities say they are still committed to the NTMWD but if this doesn't come out in their favor it wouldn't surprise me to see the group fall apart. The 4 cities have supposedly paid $178m for water they didn't use in the past decade, and would like to add conservation provisions into the contracts.
