On Friday, June 8, DDI and the City of Dallas hosted the Marilla to Market Walk, in which over 85 participants walked Marilla Street between City Hall and the Dallas Farmers Market, denoting needed improvements in a short survey. This input will inform the #MarillaMakeover project, a temporary and tactical implementation of strategies that will enhance the pedestrian experience along the Marilla Street corridor. From September 1 to December 31, the #MarillaMakeover project will improve the functionality of the street and increase safety by installing improved crosswalks at key intersections and potted and/or planted street trees along the corridor. DDI will also host seasonal and themed events throughout the fall to further activate the vacant and/or underutilized spaces along Marilla Street.

The Downtown Dallas Inc. Facebook page posted this. It's not exactly Farmer's Market related, but it does talk about Marilla Street from City Hall to the Farmer's Market and improvements that could be made there. It was just a simple survey, so obviously nothing will actually change anytime soon, but I guess it's nice that they are looking for improvement areas.
