With this tower going up, it would be cool if the Meyerson would remove the wall and open up their plaza facing Pearl.

I forgot which restaurant this is, but the finish it out is really nice (corner of Victory and Museum Way). Once Cinepolis and a few more restaurants open up, I think it's going to feel like West Village 2.0.

This shot is of the building facing Taylor Street and The Shed. Looks like there's retail/storefronts wrapped all around this building.

This got build fast. Also, peeked inside the Urban Farmhouse storefront and was surprised to see it packed with furniture. Looks like it just needs to be staged and organized.

Masonic Temple

Didn't see a topic for this one yet. Noticed work was being done today on the Masonic Temple. The windows were open, and it looked like dumpster trucks were in the back.

Going through all these videos, I'm still seeing all the surface lots that exist today (check out 0:20s on that last link). It looks like all the pedestrian activity and vibrancy was concentrated on EMC & Pacific.

Work is still being done, but it looks like it's almost finished. The surrounding area needs a lot of work. Hopefully they'll clean up the small surface lot that's right next to it.

Re: AT&T Discovery District

Agree with Dpatel. This looks better than the original renderings that had the weird video screen facing Commerce. This could be the focal point downtown has been missing, similar to Sundance Square but on a smaller scale. Right now, downtown doesn't really have a plaza or park with activated retail...

Looks like a rec center to me. The entrance on the McKinney side is so narrow, I often walk past it without even noticing it. On Google Street View, it looks like it's meant to face Oak Grove.

There's a handful of open shops as you near the AAC, but it's overpowered by all the boarded up storefronts. With this shop open, you can kind of get a feel for what VP could be.

Every time I walk past this building I imagine it as apartments. Even though this area of downtown is pretty built up, it's still really quiet. Apartments there with retail at the bottom would be pretty cool.

That and the new Holocaust Museum. It would also be cool if they got rid of the diagonal parking and made room for extra wide sidewalks for patios - even parallel parking would be better IMO.

The problem right now with VP is that there's no atmosphere there yet. A lot of the retail is spread out with vacant storefronts in between, and most of the retail is only on one side of Victory Park Lane. The other side is all boarded up.

I work in Frisco, and I too was surprised when I heard people here say Frisco was a strong contender. Their strongest point was all the land they had to offer, followed by incentives, and strong school system.
