Re: Uptown Dallas: Business Openings and Closings

I've eaten there exactly once in my 10 years in Uptown, one of the worst steaks from a restaurant I have ever had in my life and way overpriced for the experience as well. And when I say overpriced for the experience I mean basically my expectations were slightly above ordering a steak from Chili's...

It still bugs me that they're naming it "The Drever". The name has nothing to do with Dallas. I get that when I invest $240MM to redevelop a vacant skyscraper with an asbestos problem, I can name the building whatever I want... but when some 80 year old dude that looks like the Monopoly M...

The purpose of the remaking of the street was to improve the sidewalks , add parking and slow down motorists. Just how Elm was meant to be when originally constructed. Total success... The width of the actual "thru" sidewalks was not changed, they just added abutments along parts of it. T...

The City approved a Thoroughfare Plan amendment in 2015 to reduce Elm from five lanes to four. What you are seeing is the first in a series of modifications that reallocate the northside travel lane to other uses such as wider sidewalks, indented parallel parking, etc. The Drever and Tower Petroleu...

Re: Downtown Dallas Residential Count

The comments about Fort Worth are amusing... I can attest that OKC and Ft. Worth in particular seem to think it is unique for having downtown revitalization, and many people in Ft. Worth (who clearly don’t make it past Tarrant County often) think it differentiates them from Dallas, which now has 15...
