Re: Deep Ellum 1.0

400 South Hall is because of property consolidation is easier when you don't have to do any. That property is one big one and the thing I see from developers the most is not adding steps and it seems like that having to join parcels together is a big process. Personally, I don't understand enough a...

I'm amazed. I thought it would take a *lot* longer to get this building into shape, much less looking a hotel (or hotels).

Re: Street name changes/proposals

The city limits of Dallas go on up a little farther there. I think on the west side of Plano Rd. it goes up to or near Buckingham Rd., and on the east side north of Forest there is a part of Garland up to or near Buckingham. Both sides are in Richardson north of Buckingham. I thought about I-635 fro...

Street name changes/proposals

Yesterday I saw 2 street name change proposal signs, one at I-635/Plano Rd., the other at Plano Rd./Miller. They both mentioned Plano Rd. changing to Lake Highlands Dr. I didn't get to go farther north, but based on what I saw, I would guess the change would affect most of (if not all of) Plano Rd. ...

Maybe, but it would be difficult to be a downtown-area hotel (much less hotel with residences) without some kind of driveway and covered entrance.

"Cambria Tower Petroleum Dallas hotel" WAY too squirrelly and awkward labeling for this project. I guarantee that whoever they hire for that front desk is *not* going to try to answer the phone like that. Either they'll get interrupted by impatient callers, or some will think they reached...

Downtown: issues regarding lighting / signs / etc

One thing that has kinda bothered me lately, has been the sheer number of streetlights downtown that are on during the day that don't need to be. The problem is especially prevalent on the west side of downtown and in the West End. I have tried to use that Oncor website about reporting streetlight i...

I get the impression some folks here don't comprehend the population growth in the eastern areas of the Metroplex. A nice addition to downtown--as long as there is some kind of coexistance with the existing street culture that has been a fixture along Park Ave. for years. Just as with the nearby upcoming Scion hotel, some kind of security might have to be considered/implemented.
