The complete street plans would have taken care of this by closing off that righ turn as well as made the street more friendly to retail and restuarant space. Unfortunately the bar owners squashed the entire deal as they said it would get in the way of thier beer truck deliveries. I went to the plan...

The stories can have varying heights. The penthouses could have 20 ft. ceilings for instance.

I think Maple ave. is becoming the street that can service the growing population that lives in that area with restuarants and I do think they will use that coffee shop. Imagine how cool if that Knox-Henderson station was open. I don't get the Cotton Belt line most of those people that live in that area would take Uber to the airport and even more so in the future. DART needs to serve the urban going forward that is where it will find riders.

We may need two systems DART for regional and DUTS (Dallas uban transportion system) for the urban city. Dallas really isn't being correctly served from and urban perspective. I surely think we are going to see a washing out of this industry as the margins are stretched too thin too many options and the commercial rents are too high to make a profit. I give it another year then the closings in mass.

Does anyone know what the status or plan is to move forward with the extension up to Knox. Is it about raising money (plan) or how does that even work with MATA. It would be great if there was something to generate some buzz with the public to get behind this and get it going.

Does anyone know why they have installed the cement center medians what look line the old I 30 moveable concrete HOV pieces on the tollway going south from LBJ to Downtown. It has happened in the last month or so with new striping next to them.

If only they would build out the midrise apartments and retail around the open base of Cityplace tower they had planned a few years back. East of 75 just can't seem to catch the density that is happening to the west.

This would be a disaster and would halt the urban growth of Dallas in its tracks. The inner part of Dallas could continue to grow in density for decades and still not make a dent in all of this single family occupied land.

I still think a great hotel at Northpark would be a huge hit with all the Canada and Mexico shoppers coming here as well as other tourist. I thought at one time there was talk about a Four Seasons with a condo tower.

Remember the same thing happened with the CVS at McKinney and Lemmon where they tore down the Loon and now we have a parking lot and CVS where a 35 story high rise should be. Not sure what can be done about this and the worst part is that CVS and Walgreens tend to have very long term leases or worse...

These apartments and the property is being very well maintained. Probably won't see this change until the next big development cycle after it is surrounded by high rises.

Office and retail are shrinking due to technology living space is not. More people are flex working from inside their living space and using the new communal flex office spaces. This area could be a great place to live and work all while being near access to DART rail.

My best guess is that it was built for a small office / residence originally and has limited parking otherwise it would make for a great co working space.

To a place in the metro with zero mass transit options and car clogged roads. Sigh. I'm glad I don't live or work up there. That traffic even on backstreets is going to be a real long term headache.

Why would it be bad for an RH Mansion store to be built there. I was recently at the new one at the Domain in Austin and it was fantastic. It would solidify this entire area as a destination for home furnishing shopping for the long term. I would welcome this development.

I don't think in this case it so much a fixation but the only plausible way to cobble together the need for a super tall in downtown Dallas. The only other longshot is a MAJOR corporate move from another state.

I would love for them to pursue mixed use in this building with condos on top maybe a hotel in the middle and office below with a retail base. However I wish we were talking 80 to 90 floors not 70. I know it is hard to put all that together but it can happen and has happened in other cities.

I think this station will be safe for at least 15 years if they are successfull at removing TIGER grants and other matching transit funds from the federal budget. We can't even begin to move forward on our own with D2 without federal money.

I was at the Ackard dart station waiting for the train Saturday and there was very loud constant interior work going on inside. They may just be at a point where the focus is interior at the moment.

I wish we could get a much higher turnout of metropolitan voters in Texas at the polls for all elections. The way it is right now the rural voters determine policy that rules the large cities. City people don't vote in enough numbers and Texas has 3 of the largest metro areas on the country.

I was over in Bishop Arts this last Sunday and It was nice to see how many people were waiting at stations and riding the streetcar from downtown to Bishop Arts. With all of those new dense developments underway it will only get better once that all gets occupied.

If nothing else they should give good deals to amenities for their renters like nail and hair salons dry cleaners juice bars coffe shops etc. I have never understood retail space sitting empty for more than a year in a market like this.
