Re: Uptown Dallas: New Hotel at Hall and Oak Grove

The corner of Hall and McKinney is just begging for a redevelopment. The old TBD building, Uptown Apt Locators, Antique store and surface parking lot should be combined into one lot and build a great development!

Wow.... it's troubling to see how a forward-thinking, pedestrian friendly development like this tower (and on a sleepy side street to boot) can take over a year to wind through city hall and planning, but a gross CVS or Starbucks with large surface parking lots in our most promising neighborhoods o...

Just like we are seeing with Victory Park, the surface lots will start to disappear as the CBD fills in. This is definitely a good forward thinking development, because the lots where their employees are parking now, will be gone before too long.

Re: Downtown Dallas: Hillwood Urban's ~50 storey tower on former BoA motorcourt

They should aim for making it the tallest building West of the Mississippi River. Dallas' tallest have traditionally held this title. We need to reclaim that title once again. And without a cheater spire! Yes! on the spire comment. When I lived in Atlanta that Bank of America was 1/3 fluff on top. ...

How many floors left on the PWC building? I count 17 floors completed. The title of this thread mentions 20 floors. If that is true then there are three more to go. I've seen 19 and 20 quoted. Knowing developments in Dallas, I'd say it will be 19. The announcements always say it's 1 or 2 floors big...

This would be great in that spot, but I swear I saw a development sign on this site along McKinnon that showed some type of small lowrise building going on it. Maybe the additional parking is for revenue from Arts District and Klyde Warren visitors. That could allow more people from the far out burbs to be able to drive in and spend money in Dallas if they have good parking options close by.

Downtown needs more laid back spots for people to eat. Where's the Chili's? Cheesecake Factory? Rainforest Cafe? Things that families going to parks can take their kids to. Businesses are also worried about deliveries blocking traffic. Both sides of the strip have big parking lots right behind the retail. The trucks can't pull in there and deliver the items from the back?
