Walked by the Melrose this afternoon and took a pic through the parking lot fence of the conference center expansion. Can’t find any external renderings to see what it was supposed to look like, but so far it has all the charm of a value-engineered suburban strip center grocery store.

Yes, all they did was redo do a few updated disabled ramps at the corners... And now some of the ramps will be redesigned and rebuilt. This will not be a public landmark. It will be the latest addition to a walled-off, nonpublic office complex of faux-historical buildings that are monstrously out of scale for the site and its surroundings.
