Does anyone know why windows are being removed from the space above Steel (and around the corner on Hall) at the Centrum?

Re: Oak Lawn

The ramps certainly don't seem to have been designed well. These look like they might cause someone in a wheelchair—as soon as they have crossed the street, steered through the bollards, and are off the pavement—to have to make awkward turns to get up the ramps. Especially on the Hunky's corner, the...

Yes, all they did was redo do a few updated disabled ramps at the corners... And now some of the ramps will be redesigned and rebuilt. Actually, not just ramps—basically everything at the Crossroads corner except for the filled-in parking spaces will be redone, according to the Voice article I link...

Re: Victory Park 3.0

Is this an old development concept for the Northend apartments that I missed? It seems old to me because it includes the older proposals for the twin-tower Harwood buildings and the Hillwood cigar shape on the BoA site. Neither of those are active currently, are they? What's funny is google matches...

Re: Cityplace East: ACS/Xerox redevelopment

I’m not sure if this was posted... Thanks! I had not seen that yet. Today's demolition delay will be a blip on the radar if this ends up built as planned. This quote is encouraging: De La Vega is also talking with DART about expanding its underground Cityplace commuter station, which could give The...

Well, Dallas has lost a building....and gained a landmark, The Leanibg Tower of Dallas. Most of the building went ldown as planned. The elevator bank said NAW! It is leaning to the east. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=197452071316439&id=55326701544 WFAA has updated their story onli...

Re: Downtown Dallas: AMLI Fountain Place (562 FT / 46 ST)

Maybe this has been brought up before but is the glass on this new building less reflective than Fountain Place? From many angles in the photos, the interior is very apparent seeing the interior (and things like blinds down) sort of breaks up the exterior sleekness. It may just be the difference in...

Re: Oak Lawn

I miss the funky old houses on Lemmon, or at least the handful that were left at the turn of the century. If we had torn them down for something urban it might have been worth it, but what replaced these homes really set us back. Add the Avon apartment building to the list, replaced by a parking lo...

An interesting fact about the Belk space is that the facade was designed by Philip Johnson and John Burgee. Belk modified the entry when it moved in. Re: Oaklawn: Old Parkland

We have so few public landmarks of this nature in Dallas.

This will not be a public landmark. It will be the latest addition to a walled-off, nonpublic office complex of faux-historical buildings that are monstrously out of scale for the site and its surroundings.

Re: Dallas Mockingbird Station

I like the density of the project but fail to see the logic behind putting that much parking in what is supposed to be a transit oriented development. I assumed the ample parking was in the interest of encouraging the station's park-and-ride appeal. I kept thinking DART must be requiring a 1:1 repl...
