This one will be a great complement to The Gabriella (Greystar/Tom Thumb) across from 345. Not to say there are any bad places for affordable housing, but the walking distance to rail and bus transit, and soon a grocery store, makes it ideal for people who don't have or want a car.

Anland North Commercial (a Hillwood affiliate) will be at the City Plan Commission this week for a replat of the lot north of the DART plaza. Maybe this is moving forward regardless of whatever Hillwood is pitching to Amazon.

Just thinking out loud here, but I wonder if autonomous vehicles will see a similar bubble to this. I can see a Chinese company flooding the market with cars that will either take up parking or clog the streets with empty vehicles looking for a passenger.

I still think Spire will end up selling off the land in pieces so some other big developers don't get to steal their thunder. Three new things at The Statler: Waterproof, the rooftop bar, is open; José de Rivera's "A Wishing Star" has been restored; Scout, the bar with bowling lanes and other games, looks close to opening.

Walked by the Cambria hotel this morning and noticed that it is open for business. Still no liquor license for the bar but the lobby looks really nice.

A developer is building retail and restaurant space on the NW corner of Davis and Vernon. Not sure I scaled the drawing correctly, but it looks like it'll complement that block very nicely, with the bonus of a patio.

I suspect that the Royal Blue at TCC will be like a flagship-size location that feeds the much smaller location at Mercantile. The TCC location should do fine with people working in the Arts District while the Merc gets hotel and residential customers. I like it.
