I didn't know there had been a Walgreens here at one point. I've seen photos of the location at Main and Akard and the one in the Adolphus, where Rodeo Bar is today.

It's unfortunate that the company left the urban core and hasn't looked back.

At Mike Rawlings' post-mortem press conference he mentioned that Amazon was most interested in the Reunion site, Cedars/HSR station site and the Smart District site. Doesn't look like Victory Park, Trinity Groves, Oak Farms or Expo Park really had a chance.

Reminds me of when Apple tried to start calling their stores "town squares". FFS, it's just an expansion of their leasable square footage dressed up to look more urban, which is fine, but people in Garland and Lewisville still want ample and convenient parking.

I'm glad they decided on a visitors center instead of another restaurant. Why cannibalize Savor and add to the already saturated market here? Stampede 66 just closed and there are more restaurants coming to 1900 Pearl and Park District.

I saw this yesterday and asked Philip Kingston about it, but never heard back. How did they get this permit without the 45-day review required by the Demolition Overlay?
