yes, that definitely shows how this is an upgraded corner. I hope Foxtrot sets a new standard along McKinney for how well it draws people in and invites them to linger/socialize on the street.

Re: Uptown Dallas: Business Openings and Closings

Went to Foxtrot Corner Market on McKinney this morning for their grand opening (hey, they were giving out free coffee!). The store itself is fine, but what I really liked was the store's integration with the pedestrian realm. The patio is the real star of the show, and there was a nice bustle with l...

We were surprised too, especially since the old Eberhard sign is still in front of the site. The construction on that building is taking for-ev-er and it truly sticks out like a sore thumb because it's so much bigger than everything else. I also see your point. It's my biggest frustration with CityPlace tower, too. Spouse and I have shared a single small EV for the last year -- granted, we arrived in Dallas with 0 cars, and going from 0 to 2 straight away would have been jarring. I work mostly from home. Some people buy very fancy cars to soothe their souls about their frustrating commutes, when that money may be better spent on rearranging their home/work combo in order to recapture more of what we all need and want: time. One thing that people also don't seem to understand is that the pedestrian activity that results from density also results in more feet on the street and eyes on each other. A de facto neighborhood watch, if you will. As a young woman who has lived in a variety of suburban and (legitimately) urban n...
