Heavier trucks cause ruts and bumps to occur on asphalt over time, especially at intersections. That doesn't occur with concrete.

And before it flipped to Marriott, it was a Westin hotel for a time. But TNWE, you are somewhat correct as it was the first downtown property that Marriott had that was branded as a Marriott--not as one of the other brands under their umbrella.

Marriott is about to announce updated food & beverage procedures and arrangements for all its brands, so that might be 1 thing. Could cash-flow during- and after-virus be another? The owners at my property have had to use what would have been renovation funds to keep us going and afloat.

I found a feet/stories online converter, and it says 830 feet = 76.66 stories. If that's true, wouldn't that beat BoA and the tallest in Houston also? IDK if that converter is using correct or regularly-used ceiling heights per floor or not. For an office building, 830 feet is probably closer to 50...

I wonder, besides the other hotel amenities, if the owners/developers are thinking of having a different parking area built and available for guests, or if they will make everyone do like some of the downtown properties and have only valet-based parking without self-parking.

It won't be just downtown, or just restaurants. Any business that's been running by the seat of their pants and not planning adequately for downturns or surprises could be in trouble. It could be an interesting year or so around here.

DART is making more changes, beginning April 6, with supposedly temporary timing adjustments. All light rail routes will run every 20 minutes during the week. Other changes mainly involve the bus schedules.

More changes, starting April 6, as DART makes new, and supposedly temporary, schedule adjustments to most bus routes. The bulk of them will have a more-weekend-style timing to them.

My asst. GM told me when I got to work, that several hotels will have to close, including the Renaissance at the Market Center. The company furloughs reported this week will include property-level employees at various hotels. Again, I was assured that I still have my position for now.
