Re: Knox / Henderson - Knox Street Side

It's really sad seeing the pandemic's effect on the Knox Ave retail. Hopefully it doesn't take too long to return.

Sounds about right, Em. The Cochran Heights/Vickery Place NIMBYs really annoy me. Clearly they haven't received the memo that they live in the middle of a great big city. Thanks a-holes for the delay.

(but thanks for the update hahaha)

That makes sense. I looked back at the plans and was bummed to see the road surface is going to be asphalt, rather than concrete.

Re: Henderson Avenue Corridor

Bumping this thread. Has anybody heard updates on Henderson Ave's reconstruction? There had been a good amount of utility work happening, ideally in preparation for the roadway's reconstruction, but it seems like things have stalled over the last couple weeks. Any idea where they're at on this?

Forgot to post these. Disappointed in the height of this building; this could've had a couple of more floors and break the 500' mark. Now it just seems like its competing with W Victory. We have yet to see the cladding on its west side, but glass hasn't disappointed! I'm not complaining but I would...

Re: Downtown Dallas Retail

A theme I've noticed across the US is that the majority of the rioters aren't local to the particular city they're destroying, and haven't actually been a part of the protests, just the violence that followed. Listening to the Dallas police chief's press conference yesterday, she said that these cri...

Re: Downtown Dallas Retail

More looting again tonight. The CVS and Subway are a few of tonight’s casualties. After the destruction that occurred during last nights riots, why wouldn’t you just block off access to EMC streets at night for the remainder of the weekend? Or set a mandated curfew? Yeah, I don't understand how or ...

Seems like a weird time to mention Uber, seeing as they are laying loads of people off, but Uber?? I mean this is practically right next door to their Deep Ellum buildings (minus the 345). I love the scale and location of the tower (especially if D2 passes underneath) but not the odd mix of styles. It's like somebody plopped an early 2000s Miami residential tower onto the Ballpark in Arlington.

Those Greenville Ave spots all have the same owner, so it makes sense they all went down together. Laurel Tavern (+ Wah Wah Room) has actually been for sale for some time. Their pre-pandemic $199K price tag seemed surprisingly low considering they were profitable, but maybe the cost of Eastside Soci...

You're correct about Pottery Barn and some of the other retailers. They're trying to fend off looters, like the ones who were arrested for attempting to rob Jack & Ginger's over the weekend.
