Re: Arts District: Hall Arts Hotel & Residences

Yeah Hall is a boomer and maybe older than that. Nothing against Hall or his development per se but... Hall has nothing up his sleeve. What a total disappointment this development is downtown. So he builds an 18-story tower that would look better out on the LBJ freeway. Wow 18 stories. Better stand...

Hall has nothing up his sleeve. What a total disappointment this development is downtown. So he builds an 18-story tower that would look better out on the LBJ freeway. Wow 18 stories. Better stand back, that's approaching the 22-story new Dallas height limit. Too bad Dallas has been taken over by p...

Re: Uptown Dallas: Routh and Cedar Springs

That rendering looks beautiful. It's about time something glorious filled that gaping hole right in the heart of Uptown. I'm still sad to see the Idle Rich and Gingerman buildings go, but once those are razed and replaced along with the Nicle & Rye building, there will be a crazy amount of dens...

Re: Victory Park 3.0

Why are the designs of Dallas high-rises so boring? If you look at the building designs in other cities like Seattle, Austin, Amsterdam, etc, you'll see some creativity. This looks like every other 15-20 story high-rise that's popped up over the last 5 years.

Re: Harwood Int'l District: Harwood No. 11 (The Forum)

Harwood doesn't excite me at all as a developer. The designs are great but the final product is always underwhelming.. alot of it has to do with the height of their towers and their lack of pedestrian infrastructure. Call me when they start working with an urban planning firm that'll actually make ...

Re: Deep Ellum: Epic ~ Knights of Pythias Temple

It's an interesting dichotomy. Like so many changes in Deep Ellum it's liked by the Internet armchair quarterbacks who don't live in the neighborhood, yet almost universally detested by the people in the neighborhood it's in. The only person I know who's looking forward to this development is the o...

I want it to be a decent-sized high rise, but my gut is saying that it'll probably be another one of those bland 20-22 stories, with half of it as a parking garage.

Wow Austins crushing it. How many downtown apartment towers do they have in the works? Seems like DT Dallas is behind them in this regard. Houston's also doing really well. Dallas does seem to be lagging in comparison. See the bottom of this page with a compilation of under construction and propose...

Damn. I'm loving the sidewalk width. Not quite as wide as here in AMS, but it's a huge improvement, relatively speaking. Awe... Amsterdam, what a great city. I am envious. I am envious of Dallas's housing supply. It's just a travesty over here, especially for those looking for student housing.

Where will the artists lofts be located if they are coming later? That lot isnt huge, so I imagine theyd be built into the overall construction of the building, right? The the land the Walgreens is on being attached to this property. I'd love to see that lot re-developed as well. If we had at least one side of McKinney more urban through that block. It would really help connect West Village to the rest of Uptown. Right now it just feels separated. You bring up a ...
