Re: Victory Park: The Victor (~453FT / 39ST)

I think the building will look fine on the northern part of the skyline, but certainly not a stand-out by any means. For a Hines development it appears sub-par by their own standard. I wish the height was a solid 500 feet (or taller) as that would help "sleek" out the boxiness. Also, I don...

This is the best we can expect Hillwood Urban to conceive on this high profile property? I feel really sorry for AMLI. Boring to say the least. How about:

Re: KDC & Miyama Project - 30 ST

I agree the amount of ultra modern as of late has become a bit exhausting. With advanced CAD nowadays, I think it's easier for planners/architects to lose themselves in their own creative ambition. I think these renderings look fine, but unnecessarily complex and costly. The AMLI tower doesn't try ...

Re: KDC & Miyama Project - 30 ST

The architecture is very uninspiring in my view. I don't get the hanging garden look. I cannot wait for this ultra-modern phase to end.

I'm sorry but that concept is a "turd on a shingle". Give me the original 100 plus story concept back in the day any day over that hot mess.

Re: Austin's proposed tallest (in 4 yrs)

I'm curious. What measurement is used to define Austin's downtown as being bigger than Dallas? Certainly it's not by skyscrapers as measured 500 feet or higher or a cursory glance at each skyline. Moreover, office square footage is fairly large in downtown Dallas...at least > 15 million square feet ...

Re: Downtown Dallas: AMLI Fountain Place (562 FT / 46 ST)

"I would really really like to see a handful of skyscrapers seed the Medical District, just to punctuate the skyline. Viewing the dozens of midrise buildings along I-35 trails off of the downtown skyscrapers, but a few 500' towers would add emphasis to every ~10 story building, putting more oom...

I agree about building the original twins; would look stunning, especially if Fountain Place 2 is rotated 90 degrees from the original. Fun to dream.

Re: North Dallas: Midtown

This is nothing more than a self-promotion puff piece by a north Dallas city councilman's over-adulating about his daughter's project work. Nepotism? ...whatever; besides it is completely an unrealistic architectural render of some blah blah avant-garde Dallas Midtown "signature tower" at ...

Re: Downtown Dallas: AMLI Fountain Place (562 FT / 46 ST)

I'm more concerned about Fountain Place, an architectural gem, getting blocked, which is why a true twin would've mitigated such possibilities.

Re: Fort Worth: Dickies Arena

Why does everything built in Fort Worth look like that? My understanding is the design is to compliment the original Will Rogers coliseum area including the Pioneer tower, which has an Art Deco flair. Personally, while some may think it kitsch, I'd like to see Fort Worth's next tallest building pla...

Re: Victory Park: The Victor (~453FT / 39ST)

I'm happy something is being built here, however I really do hate the building. I don't like the design, and I think the name is just comical. Seriously? The Victor at Victory Park? That's gotta be the lamest thing I've heard in weeks. All being said, it will be nice to haver more density and more ...

Re: Old Cityplace Twin Tower site

I agree with the comments posted about either build the twin as originally conceived (my preference) or incorporate the Brazilian granite (or marble) that's in a field in southeast Dallas to compliment the existing tower; similar to AMLI and Fountain Place. However, it would be neat to see a skinnie...

Anyone have any new information with Houston based Hines development company about their alleged planned office or mixed use high-rise adjacent to the W (on or near the former site of the Mandarin mixed use ~650 tower proposal)?

Re: Could Dallas land Amazon HQ '2'?

Amen to the respectful rebuttal over the Evangelical comment. Honestly, I'm sick of corporate political identity. This great nation was and is built on the backs of small businesses; Dallas included. Frankly, its Dallas' history of innovation that have geographers collective heads scratching given w...

Re: Northpark Center

I'm not sure about the FAA restrictions and even less certain about the current economic viability, but I think a Williams/Transco tower kind of development next to Northpark would "define" that retail/office/urban living cluster in such a way as Transco/Williams did for Houston's Galleria...

When I look at this building I think to myself this is nothing more than your neighborhood fixer-upper equivalent meant for nothing else than revolving rent...parking garage included. I'm disappointed that a striking tower doesn't occupy this highly visible space as pointed out prior. I'm sure I'm i...

Re: Downtown Dallas: AMLI Fountain Place (562 FT / 46 ST)

Only a twin could compliment the first born. I would've preferred another "80s post-modernist original" next to it in order to accentuate the beauty of Fountain Place...but's that's just me.
