Isn’t Trammell Crow also doing 2000 Ross? It was supposed to have residential and now it doesn’t. TC is an anti urban company period.

Henri Bendel is closing all stores across the country including the 5th Avenue flagship. All locations will close by January of next year including Northpark's location. I'm curious what will replace them. More and more spaces are opening up in Northpark including the soon to be closed Brookstone.

Re: Northpark Center

Louis Vuitton Men's store is now open. It appears to be a refresh of the Mulberry store design. Is this temporary and the plan is to open a larger LV store in the mall? I hope LV takes over the Bvlgari/Montblanc spaces and expands with Men’s for one huge store with RTW. Same with Gucci and all or p...

Re: Downtown Dallas: Tower Petroleum - The Saint Elm Hotel (1907 Elm) & Corrigan Tower (1900 Pacific)

Planting trees in the middle of the sidewalk is something I've noticed across Dallas- a practice no other city does. Somehow every other city in America has placed their trees closer to the sidewalk but nope, in Dallas we need to block as much pedestrian activity as humanly possible.

Re: D Magazine New Urbanism Issue

I know I wrote a lot but just to add onto this, I think Dallas needs to realize what it's strength is- low cost of housing and people being able to relatively easy afford the American dream in a huge metro area. Besides downtown/uptown and a few other parts of the city, let's be real, people don't c...

Re: D Magazine New Urbanism Issue

It's a great issue. It really delves into a LOT and into really really specific minutia of urban planning. The only thing I feel though is that it's still a little all talk no action. This issue is great and yes there is a symposium, but the average DFW resident isn't going to change overnight. Peop...

if developers built more apartments and condos downtown they'd continue to fill up. I'm surprised we don't see more going up downtown now. Right?? No, they could not reach a deal for the Sugar building. It will remain. The building to be demolished is the red building north of the vacant area. I kind of wish that red building was staying. Keep in mind people while the tallest buildings may be in the CBD the center of the Dallas DFW universe is not the CBD. In the grand scheme of things, most people are to the north Uptown being the start of that. The CBD is on the very edge of demographic rooftops that retailers want. The CBD is the...
