Re: DALLAS to HOUSTON High Speed Rail

It's hard for me to think about the Dallas to Houston trains without including the rest of the triangle, so.... I'm okay with a state funding contribution to get San Antonio and Austin hooked-up. Neither probably has the traffic potential yet, and are too far apart (distance and existence) for a co...

Re: Dallas Love Field Airport

It seems like they should have maybe added a second-floor area to the main terminal for retail/restaurants. Not huge space but adding a Magianos will not help with morning traffic runs. I imagine the pseudo beverage/snack kiosks are a solution that will help since many people probably are trying to...

With all the talk of the Tesla Semi... I really think Volvo's alternative is the right way go to. https://electrek.co/2018/09/13/volvo-all-electric-autonomous-truck-without-a-cab/ All electric No cab No driver Fully autonomous They mention here that this is intended mainly for 'urban' transport (du...

Re: DFW Airport

Thank you I45 Tex, that brings back some fond memories. I remember flying out of DFW after its first opened as a kid . Everytime the connector between C and D,I look for signs of the old Airtrans footprint still standing (on the west side in front Terminal D). Oh the memories. Which makes the Skylin...

Re: Lowest Stemmons Project

The 183 interchange merging south is a big problem. Especially the left lane of 183 merges with I35's right lane. Surely TxDot must have known this for years. https://www.google.com/maps/place/DFW+Airport,+Grapevine,+TX+75261/@32.8148603,-96.8673527,159m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x864c2a66094076dd:0x...

Re: Lowest Stemmons Project

Here is something, looks like a fairly typical freeway widening project that promises to alleviate congestion but probably won't. https://ftp.dot.state.tx.us/pub/txdot-info/dal/projects/i35e-lowest-stemmons.pdf More highway lanes.... wonderful.... UGH. I'm all for cleaning up 35 and making it more ...

Re: I-35W - North Frwy. ("North Tarrant Express")

Has the recently opened toll lanes have an effect on traffic? Especially since the free lanes are in the same config at only two. The many times I have been through FTW, never really had a traffic problem heading north.

Re: DFW Airport

Yeah, 3 Billion is a bit high. Delta is spending 4 billion on the NYC LaGuardia terminal. Imagine what terminal complex 4 billion gets AA at DFW.

Re: DFW Airport

We'll see, all I know is that DFW's largest customer and the one paying the bills through its enplanements is making noise about a change in direction. It must cost more to have to man four different check in counters in four terminals. Yes, alot of money has been sunk into 2 TRIP renovations and th...

Re: DFW Airport

I think AA is looking for some deal with DFW for Terminal F and/or Terminal C. The airport just spent over a billion dollars renovating A, B, and E. The logistics required to bulldoze all 5 terminals to build one GIANT terminal that has the same amount or more gates (DFW has 165 currently, PHX has ...

Re: DFW Airport

Over on an airline enthusiast website, they are stating AA wants to move away from the horse shoe concept and move to something like IAH or PHX terminal layout. Expect an announcement soon. A terminal layout like IAH or PHX would work being built in the median of International Parkway. Speeds would ...

Re: I-30 South & East Dallas reconstruction

So let me get this straight, dissolve the connection between Central and I-45,and that traffic goes where? Through a fancy boulevard and stop lights? And that's improvement? 635 cannot absorb that traffic. The I-30 is akin to what Ft.Worth did when they rebuilt the mixmaster, moving it further south...
