I totally agree.

Don't forget Thomas Land & Development and their huge whole in the ground called Wade Park.

Re: Frisco: Wade Park

The whole $5 Billion Dollar Mile is such a joke. Only half of the projects are actually getting built now. That’s Frisco station and the Star. No progress on The Gate, last I heard they’re trying to sell of individual parcels to developers who they can convince of the vision. Wade Park is a very dis...

Re: Harwood Int'l District: No. 10 Harwood (22 ST)

I passed by this building today and it looks like it is nearing the height of the adjacent building it will connect to with resteraunts on the ground floor. I don’t know about everyone else but I’m really looking forward to La Rue Perdue, the internal restaurant row between the two buildings. I hope...

Re: Las Colinas/North Irving Development

I used to live over here near MacArthur and 635 and have to agree the Toys R Us shopping center feels dated. The Mi Cocina there is probably the least luxurious restaurant they have, and I have been to at least 5 other locations (Richardson, West Plano, Preston & Forest, West Village, Far North ...

Re: Margaret McDermott Bridge by Santiago Calatrava

If you read the Steve Brown article with comments from Calatrava’s team it seems that the issues are a bit overstated and have been resolved by adding weighters to prevent the tension put on the cables by the wind. They claim things like this happen with such a large project and have/are being resol...

Re: Harwood Int'l District: Bleu Ciel (390 FT / 33 ST)

At least it fills in a gap and provides some nice aesthetic when driving into downtown on the Tollway. This with the Alexan, and Katy Station are starting to bring the density towards the tollway. That being said none of them really interact at the street level... Also, does anyone know if Richardso...

So much love goes to the Margarett Hunt Hill Bridge, but personally I like this bride a lot more. Speaking purely on aesthetics on the skyline of course, but if you watch any nationally televised Dallas sports game they feature pictures of large marge with the skyline in the background and never sho...

Found this rendering I had never seen before. I hope someday this project is built! In my opinion this would trump the BOA Tower as the king of the Dallas skyline.

Re: Downtown Dallas: AMLI Fountain Place (562 FT / 46 ST)

Thanks for the pics! To me, this is one of the most exciting projects in years in Dallas. The height, the homage to Fountain Place, and its place in the skyline are significant. Can’t wait to see it rise, and hopefully the Hillwood Tower next door after that.

Some photos from last Saturday. What I gathered from the construction guys I spoke with, the restaurant space should be complete by this summer and the office building shortly thereafter. They're shooting to have the residential portion open by the end of the year as well.

Apple has already said they won’t be following Amazon’s long bidding process and they won’t be building HQ2 in Texas.

A developer is building retail and restaurant space on the NW corner of Davis and Vernon. Not sure I scaled the drawing correctly, but it looks like it'll complement that block very nicely, with the bonus of a patio. This should be a correct map showing the recent boom in development in the Las Colinas area around Lake Carolyn. Would love to see some more vertical development next on the waterfront.

Re: Frisco: Wade Park

I loved the potential of this development. The tenants were unique (Patagonia, Rustic, iPic, Hotel ZaZa, Steel City Pops, etc.) compared to a lot of other mixed use developments in the area. The retail and restaurant tenants far exceed those of developments like City Line, but they’re missing the em...

Re: Could Dallas land Amazon HQ '2'?

We'll be a denser Los Angeles without the beach before we know it! Decades of shade from New York have made people have no idea how dense LA is. It's extremely dense, it just doesn't have the same peak as some of the older cities. I may have been exaggerating a bit, but in the time I have spent in ...

Re: Could Dallas land Amazon HQ '2'?

I love the Victory Park bid. Seems like a great place for Amazon to do what they did in Seattle. Take a "good" infill neighborhood and transition it to a "great" one. In the event that Amazon does a best and final process eliminating the field down to say 5 cities proposals, I se...

This building is actually starting to look a LOT better with that glass up on the parking garage. You really can't even tell the bottom half is parking. I think it will turn out to be a decent looking building, not great.
