Re: Could Dallas land Amazon HQ '2'?

That 93% was due to endless highway expansion by city/regional/state planners, not some magical "free market" choice between cars & trains. The population growth didn't occur out of thin air. LOL. Yeah, everybody moved to the suburbs because of some giant government conspiracy. Ok.......

The three courtyards, named Il Buono, Il Brutto, and Il Cattivo (The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly)

They’ve also got the translation wrong. “Cattivo” means “bad” in Italian, e.g, “I’m not such a bad comedian” = “non son cattivo comico.” “Brutto” means ugly.

The Drafthouse is a dream come true. Went three times this week. Only had to park in the parking garage once. Service was mostly great. One time I got bbq sauce with my fish and chips instead of ketchup. Another time they brought the wrong food. Still, I’ve been to soft openings at a couple of the o...

My thought process when I saw the first price on there: “Oh, $19,000 per year isn’t too bad. About $1,600/month...OH THATS FOR A MONTH OF RENT!!!” To be fair the first price I saw was for a penthouse unit of 3k sq ft.

Yeah, UTD likes to tout the Carnegie metric and in the same breath refers to it as a milestone on their journey to Tier 1 status. Ergo, they freely admit they aren’t there yet, by their own metrics. Carnegie’s metrics, which include Texas Tech and UNT as Tier 1, are part of the “grade inflation” som...

I also have a lot of experience here. DMN is right. UTD is trying really hard right now to become Tier 1 but they are thinking a decade into the future in terms of having a global impact. Aside from UTSW, which is not an undergraduate institution, Dallas doesn’t have Tier 1 research universities. Te...

I really like the attempts to build up DART. But sunbelt cities don’t compete on the transit. They are built for cars and Dallas especially.
