How can an area be called a "park" when it is not governed by the Park Board. The Dallas City Charter has this outlined very clearly.

Re: Trinity River Park

It sure is a river bottom. It has been a river bottom since the end of the last Ice Age. Or longer. Matter of fact one can find the ancient meanders of the river inside the floodplain where the man made current channel resides.

Re: Trinity River Park

Why can't we let the Trinity be a river, seems like its original and best purpose is being a river and being such makes it a great wildlife habitat that in itself would be the attraction. It is very much possible. One just needs to divorce themselves from the mindset that the river bottom must be f...

Re: Trinity River Park

^That would be my dream for the Trinity River Park, but it seems like a long shot at this point. We'll be lucky if we get any sort of park at all, let alone something similar to Lady Bird Lake. It will happen. Perhaps there needs to be more of a focus nature oriented. Maybe a national conservation ...

It's a plaza, not a park. I would not even call "Klyde Warren" "Park" a park. It's a plaza.

Nothing will change until Mary Suhm's legacy of destruction can be undone. Her pet projects fell apart. The individuals responsible are still employed by the taxpayers.

I think the scale is about right, pasting the stadium built in Arlington into Fair Park... The plan would have been to demolish the Cotton Bowl and shift the new stadium a little further to the east by demolishing the Expo Center(blue rodeo arena) and also building into areas where the Top O' Texas...

Re: Trinity River Park

Dallas taxpayers already voted for the bridge to connect the Katy Trail to the Design District. The people advocating for that now have to figure out if the sales pitch they sold voters is valid. News that I-35 will likely be expanded and/or double decked would likely kill that plan and push funding...

The incredible part of it all is that WE allow it to continue. WE meaning you reading this. Time to put a stop to it. Dallas can't afford more of this. What are the avenues to put a stop to this? What is your suggested outcome? Those responsible for prior mistakes can never be allowed to work on fu...

If the BN sticks, we'll see plenty of permanent stuff make its way in. Only way to do that is to kick a lot of homeowners out. The newness of that place is starting to fade. Saw some guys with an AK47(Romanian AK) down at First Tee last week shooting into a gravel pit. They were drinking beer, smok...

Re: Trinity River Park

I am super interested in seeing infrastructure that can be built in the floodway. I think concrete cattle are all that stand down there. Quite a bit might be possible if it fits within the Balanced Vision Plan and is near maintenance free.

Re: Trinity River Park

There are plans for the park but you won't have input on them. It is not your park. It is a private park that the public can access some of the time. Ideally, the $150-250 million would be paid by the real estate developers who hold the real estate straddling the County Jail. Without a grand park pl...

Re: Trinity Forest Golf Course

The old landfill is surrounded by floodplain. It would take an act of god for the Corps of Engineers or State of Texas to approve filling in the floodplain to that degree. Other than a few acres held by churches on the north side of Loop 12, nothing is large enough to support a hotel. Besides, the m...

Re: Trinity Forest Golf Course

A luxury hotel can't be built near Trinity Forest GC. There is no room for one. They want to build small bungalows in the woods that back up to Loop 12. Imagine the noise. Unknown is the millions of dollars in HUD money spent on this project that should have gone to the community. Instead it went to...

Re: Trinity Forest Golf Course

One must be a member of Trinity Forest CC or an invited guest of member to play there. It is a private club. This is the way it was always intended. It is not a public course. The only "public" part of it is the enormous sum of money Dallas citizens paid to build it.

Re: Trinity River Park

Creating new river meanders will be harder than most think. A quick look at the mess created by the Corps of Engineer failing Lower Chain of Wetlands project is one good example. River took the wetlands back in the last flood. Only through enormous spending and construction are they fixing it. The &...
