I love the idea of DART expansion to include crossover 635 and Galleria area (where I work) but did D2 ever get finalized maybe I missed that seems like the cart before the horse.

I too noticed the removal of the top of the clock but I thought I remember seeing renderings of the redo of the clocktower with LED boards in place of the clocks. I am hoping they do that as it would add some life to overall building.

I would be fine with improved crosswalks all the way from Cedar Springs/Turtle Creek to Douglas/Cedar Springs. I also heard that Pints and Quarts is open at the Centrum. Oak Lawn and Cedar Springs intersection is begging for a real pedestrain crosswalk to connect that area up for better foot traffic.

I am counting the blessing that at least the train stops at edge of our downtown and will be able to connect with DART at the center of our city. Houston was not so lucky.

I agree Fogo De Chao looks dead most of the time. I am not sure how you transition McKinney away from the bar/pub scene. I would love to see any data showing that happening in DISD. I just don't see it happening I just see people making between 50,000 and 150,000 moving to the burbs. If you make more than 150,000 then you can afford private.

They leave not because of housing they leave because they can't afford private schooling on top of housing so they move to where they have public schools that they consider worth the sacrifice of moving to the burbs. It has been this way for decades.

The Melrose has a planned development for that lot if the old owner of empty and ragged and probably out of code compliance cafe brazil space would sell. As far as I know Caven has nothing planned for their lot.

I think Perot and Victory have the deal if it comes to Dallas. They already have a connection and history together and they have both immediate build out ready for the first phases and room more for the back end phases all connected to DART station(s future) with direct service to DFW.

Yes more along the lines of the Metropolitan. I would gladly put down a deposit to purchase a unit in this building that is not built solely around uber luxury like Museum Tower or Blue Ciel. It is more about getting to live downtown than living like Dynasty for me.

Gating up the stations could also make for better security while waiting for the train. Anyone have a guest what it would cost to create secured entry to the stations with ticket or phone app entry from outside like other cities.

I can't even remember the last time I saw someone checking tickets on a train. The honor system only works if it is policed heavily otherwise we need to gate up the whole system and if caught without a ticket the penalty is way higher.

Dean & DeLuca never made any sense to me going into Legacy, not their demographic. Highland Park Village, McKinney and Olive...maybe. Oh well it sounds like they are under the Amazon effect and going online like everything else.

Also noticed Emma has been missing in action for a while which is too bad. MATA needs to be ramping up to meet the new growth in this area and seems to be faltering lately. I know there are the detractors but at some point to meet the needs of this urban area it really needs to go all modern streetc...
