Surely that merry go round is just a cut and past place holder until they figure out what to do there. It looks ridiculous. I heard the sky bridge connecting the Perot all the way to the Arts District would be a phase 3 project at a later date.

With the improvements coming to the building and the new park nearby coming hopefully they can secure a new lease to absorb this loss. That part of downtown is on the move so I hope this doesn't stifle that energy.

If they would just put 8 stories of apartments above all of this I would be ok. I just don't understand why that would not be feasible for that area with Cityplace and Uptown right there. I said the same thing with Turtle Creek Village why did they not build it up with living mixed into the retail.

At this point this would be considered low density use in Allen. Why can't they put apartments above the retail. What a joke they are and apparently have zero interest in doing what is right for Dallas.

I am starting to get concerned that if they don't announce the mixed use development soon for McKinney and Lemmon for the Central Market that it could be delayed even more due to the upcoming slowdown in a year or so.

I think the real challenge in DFW today is that you really are making a personal decision to ride the train and streetcar. A big help would be to match the sidewalks and landscaping on that side with what you see in Uptown. That is the disconnect as you cross over central you immediately notice that you have left uptown.

Was at Billy Can Can friday night. Nice crowd great drinks food was only so so. Went and have a drink upstairs at Imoto (great space filled with people downtairs and upstairs. If they can keep these crowds going while they add more restuarants then there might be a glimmer of hope down here.

Last two rides on the train I noticed that ticket checking was happining much more often than usual. I hope DART can keep up this level of verifying tickets to riders.

Just some better paint color choices on the outside would have gone a long way. Pale yellow mush generally does not rivet the senses. I am still glad it is there though and someday it will get repainted.

This is going to be a great urban part of Dallas once this all merges into a cohesive area from Trinity Groves all the way over to Jefferson. Loving where all of this is headed hope the growth continues at this fast pace. Looking forward to both sides of the river as one skyline.

Don;t forget that we spent 10 years plus rehabbing old unused buildings into apartments throughout the downtown core. The next phase and only growth possible is on those empty lots and low use land plots. It will happen next.

Tunnel Harry Hines and McKinnon and build a pedestrian bridge across Field street from the Happiest Hour area into Victory and use the old McKinnon above ground as a Katy Trail extension into lower uptown and connect to Klyde Warren Park. Dreams are free.

I walked through this area last Sunday and it really is going to be a great place once the garage and apartment tower are finished. It was fun to see the old fountains running again as this was always a cool hangout in the summer back in the 1980's when it opened. All very promising.

OK I got to visit casually with a person on the inside and they said that the plan is they will raze the existing structure and put a mixed use with Residential and office towers with retail at bottom with underground parking. A Central Market will be part of that retail at the bottom of the develop...
