Let's aim for streets with actual sidewalks first.

Re: Trinity River Park

There's tons of renderings showing how riverfront boulevard would look like without the jail. But selling the jail is one thing, moving the other jail buildings requires political muscle that is completely unrealistic in my opinion. Not only moving them, but *where* would they move them? No other p...

Re: DFW Economy

^ That's a great point. With all the building, densification, etc, how is it that Dallas only gained ~1,000 residents? I realize Dallas is land-locked in most directions but it seems like it would have to be something more than that. E.g., are there areas in southern or west Dallas which are losing...

Re: East Dallas: Ross Avenue Corridor

Later that afternoon, though, a word with the manager confirms it. “Yes, we are closing, because the building owner is selling to a developer. Townhomes,” she grumbles and scurries off. There's furniture to manhandle. https://www.dallasobserver.com/arts/the-ross-at-peak-thrift-store-is-closing-1154...

Re: Mountain Creek

Another warehouse ugh. When are they finally gonna put retail here? Or trails, something. It's a shame that a beautiful part of Dallas, with a population of over 15,000, a 3,000+ student university, and a 10,000+ member church has nothing but a gas station.

Re: The Grocery Store Thread 2.0

I don't anticipate seeing them in Oak Cliff until more demographics down there change but that definitely seems like there future. I would have hoped for a Downtown location but that still seems far off for now until more residential comes down the line for the Cedars/Lamar/CBD and Deep Ellum. This...

Re: Oak Cliff: Bishop Arts

ehhhhh saying uptown is the best part of the urban core is really debatable.

but I'm really excited for the Azucar ice cream shop coming! I had it in Miami and it was wonderful! It'll highlight Dallas' growing Latino diversity.

Re: Oak Cliff: Bishop Arts

I'm shocked at how much those townhomes cost. Half a million??!! I hope that doesn't become the norm for this area as it has in East Dallas by Henderson.

Re: The Canyon In Oak Cliff

Also, this development is much more fitting for the suburban, middle-class Hispanic population around the area than a trendy, $6 juice bar or coffee shop or "luxury" apartments. And hopefully, it'll take some of the traffic from Cockrell Hill.

Re: Mountain Creek

Overlooking the First Industrial project is a plan for about 450 additional apartments. Not sure of the status on those but they will likely be approved. The I-20 corridor continues to sail along. Where will the apartments be? I just wish the retail will get here fast. It's so annoying having to go...

Yeah, it's better if you like Vietnamese food. For those looking for Korean food, Royal and 35 is obviously the better option.
