Re: Downtown Progress

^That's true. It's better than before, but with so many projects completed I would have thought there would be a pretty consistent level of street activity by now. The thing is there are still too many empty storefronts, construction zones or empty lots separating all the active spots downtown. Hope...

Agree w/ Dpatel. I'd say Discovery District for creating a destination for downtown, East Quarter for merging downtown and Deep Ellum, and I'd add the Holocaust Museum for hopefully bringing more activity to the West End.

Is work being done on the old Sol Irlandes building? I was downtown on Sunday, and realized how dead it felt not having this building and patio active there anymore. It's crazy that so many projects have been completed, but because they're not contiguous, downtown still doesn't feel as vibrant as it...

I see your point. Overall, it is better than having nothing. The frustrating thing is that these 3 things (Shops of Legacy, Legacy West, new deck park) could have been a really walkable/pleasant/green area with better planning. I work in the area and go to Shops and Legacy West pretty frequently. Th...

A few years ago when I was in NYC, I saw this building, 488 Madison Avenue, and it seriously reminded me of 505 N Ervay. They were both completed in 1949. Of course the New York one is a lot nicer, haha.
