Re: Richardson: CityLine

It's really tough to consider the Whole Foods strip section as even part of the "CityLine" TOD, since it is separated by a fairly large street in Plano Rd. There's ton of residential in that immediate area, and seemingly more on the way all the time. I think if some of the restaurants/reta...

Re: North Dallas: Midtown

Yeah, the delays on this one substantially pre-date COVID. It took forever just to get to the point where they are today, and I do not anticipate anything approaching the original renderings to appear for another 5 years or more. It is interesting, as there are developments within a 2 mile radius th...

They tore down the part of the building that held the Stark Club. It appeared to be a later addition to the original structure. The building is wedged between Woodall and Continental. They need to do something to get a walking connection to VP and the West End. Bumping this up... They tore down the...

Re: Richardson: CityLine

CityLine (west side) has always had a bit of an untapped potential feel to me, even before COVID. I can't really figure out why it isn't more successful, perhaps the fact that there's not really anything besides restaurants there. If they mixed in some other retail (aside from the nail salon), maybe...

I did notice that there was controlled entry into the stations. I wonder if that would contribute to people feeling "safer" riding the train. I know that having the gates won't prevent 100% of folks sneaking aboard (especially if the above-ground stations are still wide open, but maybe tha...

Wow, that is interesting. I wonder how this ends up competing with the HSR project. One of the big selling points for HSR against a traditional airline is that you can just show up and get on. In theory, this airline would offer a similar no-TSA experience.

^Wow, yeah that would be pretty substantial. It will be interesting to see development geared toward UTD hop over Waterview on that side. Today, that seems like it would be quite the hike, but once the DART station and related TOD is complete, it may not seem like such a drastic distance.

If the protests were violent and out of control downtown, we'd be hearing and seeing about it somewhere. The truth is, it is not happening. On this thread alone, I have seen society's ills blamed on: - the concept of "defunding the police" - the killing of 5 Dallas police officers by a lon...

It's interesting. I have a feeling that while parks like KWP and Main Street Garden have been catalysts for later development around them, the Trinity River Park may end up finally getting "built" if for no other reason than there's too much ancillary development to keep delaying it.
