Re: Downtown Dallas: AMLI Fountain Place (562 FT / 46 ST)

I definitely do not want to hijack the thread and assume this has probably been discussed on here... and disclaimer, I did not follow the D2 discussions very closely. But it seems as if the City of Dallas and Dart would have learned their lesson with negative effects of running the light rail at gra...

I’m assuming you’ve never been to the rodeo grounds and livestock show area? This design keeps with, and continues the theme and historic architecture of that area. Anything else would seem out of place, IMO.

Re: Downtown Dallas: AMLI Fountain Place (562 FT / 46 ST)

Actually I was speaking to the design of the site and how it connects to and provides transitions bewteen the private and public realms. The components (cladding, including retail uses, etc.) do not compensate for actual design elements (wide enough sidewalks, separation between the sidewalks and t...

Re: Old Cityplace Twin Tower site

I want it to be a decent-sized high rise, but my gut is saying that it'll probably be another one of those bland 20-22 stories, with half of it as a parking garage. Prolly. It seems like they want to put in a signature mixed-use development here based on this quote, "We are hoping to do a sign...

Re: Uptown Dallas: Business Openings and Closings

DBJ Article from this morning. I wish there could be a happy medium as far as having more than just the high end steak house etc. Neighborhood restaurants, bars, retail etc. are what give neighborhoods a neighborhood feel. The fact that Uptown is becoming less walkable is what I dislike the most. ht...

I’m pretty sure that has been the case for quite a while if memory serves correctly. I thought the neighborhood association protested the rezoning or something along those lines. I could be way off. That was many moons ago.

Re: Could Dallas land Amazon HQ '2'?

Not sure if this is a dumb question or not, but does Amazon’s list capture the metro areas listed or is this a list of the proper cities? (eg. would it say North Texas if they were considering Irving, Frisco etc.)

It’s all about timing with developments. This site is being developed to generate revenue. When the time is right, it will be prime for a higher and better use. A big mixed-use for this neighborhood doesn’t seem imminent.

Architecturally, more of the same cheap, assembly-line infill garbage that is going up everywhere. But it does bring critical mass which will help the neighborhood become walkable. So, all in all a win for Dallas.

Me thinks the push-back is because it's not the accurate render. Pretty sure that render is from a different architecture firm than who AMLI is using. Not totally certain on that.

Just thinking out loud here... but why would CBRE have access to a final design, yet to be announced by AMLI, for an office leasing flyer? Could be way off, but I don't think that is the final design or even the design at all.

Pretty sure nobody is right so far in this thread. Holt Lunsford is developing this project, and he is a major player in DFW real estate. He will office out of this building at wants to target family offices as tenants of the building. That said, no clue what the hold up is on the project.

I'm curious if Hillwood will start construction on this without an anchor tenant? Hines got 609 Main underway Houston as a spec development and have done quite well leasing so far.
