Gosh we need major change in leadership at DART. They're designing the rail map like a highway system.... long routes through low density areas. Meaning extremely large cost and low ridership. The exact opposite of what they should be doing. Smacking my head!

Just like with all the early 1900s architecture and midcentury modern that Dallas has torn down, we will wonder the same about the Postmodern architecture currently being sanitized and destroyed in 5-10 years. "Why did they tear it all out?" Our developers do not respect former architect's...

The aqua neon pyramid that tops the Centrum clocktower was removed.... sad. Maybe it's being repaired? I hope the aqua neon stays. They sanitized the rest of the design and that was the only thing with character left. Oak Lawn won't feel the same without the clocktower.

If Austin loses the bid, I imagine transit will be a major reason and this could serve as their Boeing moment. If they get it, I have no idea how Mopac and I-35 will absorb 50,000 new people. That would trigger an identity crisis of sorts. They can longer be the little brother who has (had) a small...

I'm not loving that it's an exposed parking garage, but I see two bright spots. Ground floor retail and the fact that the floors are level. That means it would be easier to convert to office/hotel/residential in the future if demand for parking spots is less.
