It would be nice to see new residential highrises with this aesthetic in Downtown. This kind of reminds me of brand new versions of the prewar residential you'd see in older cities. I think they'd fit right in Dowtown.

I pass through this area on the way to work daily, and it seems like they are focusing on the Purgatory building and the triangular building. The triangular one looks about ready to be finished out as a restaurant space. Exterior work looks complete for the most part.

Yeah, if the station truly is already "dug out" and just needs finishing and elevators and such, it shouldn't be too much. There's no need to make it fancy. It it's a concrete shell, commission artists to make it interesting on the cheap. Murals, neon, sculpture, etc. Maybe a water feature...

I think it opened in 2015/2016. From the way the demolished it down to the foundation only, I think they might be rebuilding it rather than demolishing it altogether.

I did some dummy bookings on Hostelworld for Deep Ellum Hostel for this weekend, and it looks like some of their dorm rooms are sold out and one of the private rooms is booked. Not bad for nobody knowing about it. The prices have actually slightly increased to $43/night/bed for the cheapest options....

All streets downtown need traffic to be slowed. I swear some people think they are on the DNT speeding at 60mph down Elm and other streets. Reduce speed limits across the board and ENFORCE them. I never see any of the speeders downtown getting pulled over.

Sad to see one of the original tenants go (Gap) but that's just the reality of their brand right now. On a positive note, it will be good to see 3-4 new tenants replace Gap instead of one large one. More variety will be a good thing. More clothing options would be much appreciated.
