Re: Uptown Dallas: (PWC) Park District Tower (316 FT | 20 ST) + Residences at Park District (385 FT | 32 ST)

Here's a look today. I was actually just messing around and getting a newish crappy phonephoto reflection picture - then figured I'd post it here to at least report to those who don't walk by every day that this place is cruising along in late stages of interior finish-out. Also, of course, lower ex...

Re: Uptown Dallas: Business Openings and Closings

I haven't noticed if anyone mentioned it yet, but, Doc B's did open up not too long ago at McKinney & Olive Tower. Looks like they'll be open 7 days a week and also until fairly late. Their outside patio area facing Harwood wasn't 100% good to go yet as of the other day.

Re: Restaurants: general news/development

Teresa over at CultureMap made a pretty big regional list of prospective openings or just-opened places that I'm sure is evolving every day. Probably a difficult list to maintain as well as make sure all are even included:

Anyone else suspect that they hired the Office of James Burnett (designer of Klyde Warren Park) to design the plaza? I was definitely thinking the same regarding the landscape arch. - it does seem to have familiar OJB cues. I don't know whether OJB is involved, but local landscape architecture firm...

I also would not be too terribly surprised if the hotel is their own "brand" folded into their existing wing, the Harwood Hospitality Group.

Hope they can get that graffiti off the front I was wondering what graffiti you are referring to. The old MAC blue wall is still there dividing the ugly Shell-dominated strip center and has hand-written paint on it saying what restaurant is moving in (been there about 1.5 years) and someones random...

Nothing like a building (1401) that is now a bit naked and you have to cross all of the streets it intersects with to even walk past except for the station side to remind you that this is a/an. . . (to complete this sentence positively, it's possible we'll have to wait several more years.)

I figured since I want to talk about a name change, there should be an overall bus system thread for FWTA. I find the old-school rooftop water tank above the DART-station-facing garage a unique touch all things considered. Nice little nod, although I'd love to see a couple of fairly tall ornamental smoke-stacks retro-fitted into a couple of non-diagonal corners of the AAC to really add a nod to history a...

Tower Two had a slightly faster fill-up even with more uni...
