Re: North Dallas: Alpha + Inwood

Agreed. It makes me happy to see that Addison is doing well. It could have gone the other way, being in a vacuum between Downtown and Plano/Frisco. I remember reading somewhere that the new LBJ freeway had additional space planned for submerged light rail tracks. Does anyone know anything about this?

Nice stuff, recently stayed at the Moxy hotel in Berlin, very similar experience to an ALOFT hotel. Would be cool to see what happens with the river walk in the design district. Would be even better if they could tie it in with the Trinity project as well.

The buildling looks great. I lived in Oak Lawn for a years and always enjoyed the mid-century modern townhomes that were so frequent in the area. Looks good to me! That's a surprisingly high amount of affordable apartment units. Is that possibly because this building is basically on the edge of the CBD and is sorta 'tucked away'? Could also be due to the fact that it's also bordering a freeway. Regardless, quality affordable options in downt...

I'm ignorant and don't live in Dallas anymore, but can someone explain the reasoning in delaying the demo of the entire mall. Isn't it cheaper to front the demolition costs than to cover the property taxes of the mall until a 1/1,000 deal gets inked?

The AC looks great! Love that quasi Mid Century facade. I agree. Too bad the Modera apartments look like crap! What a bland design. Imagine, 10 or 15 more lots turned in to mid-rise projects like this. It would at a few thousand more people in and around the CBD and enrich the urban fabric from block to block.
