Re: Downtown Dallas: AMLI Fountain Place (562 FT / 46 ST)

if developers built more apartments and condos downtown they'd continue to fill up. I'm surprised we don't see more going up downtown now.

That would be abig improvement and the building where the Den was needs to be torn down and redeveloped with the surface lot.

Re: Uptown Dallas: Business Openings and Closings

The old Idle Rich building is supposed to be a Theory type business if I remember correctly. And the space being built out across the street will be quite interesting. I think we will see the crowds pick back up along McKinney. That whole development where Jakes and Trophy Room are needs to be bulld...

I've said it before. I even think the Hard Rock would be much more visible if it were next to the AAC. Most people have no idea there even is one.

It would probably need to be some sort of artificial turf though because the direct sun and heat would kill it off unless you watered it a lot which isn't good either.

Yes, but I saw a sign there that said the entrance was closed temporarily. Hmm...

I really want to see this one go up as well as the one next to the Museum Tower. I hope they make it out of the ground this cycle.

There's no way they would build out the restaurant in that space for a short term lease. I wouldn't even mind if this building stayed, I just want the old 7 Eleven to go and that lot be redeveloped.

I drove through there yesterday and it was the first time I was like Wow. People were walking around and the mix of shops and restaurants is really creating a good mix. I know it would seem weird, but the Hard Rock would probably do a lot better closer to the AAC in this area. A lot of people don't ...

Certain stores that need foot traffic should not bother with HP Village. It's not going to be like opening in NorthPark.

The Galleria in Houston does a lot of shuffling as well. Not sure if it's quite on the level that NorthPark is doing. How come the city doesn't push developers to try to be more created with parking? They seem to be picky about apt buildings having above ground parking, but then turn around and let surface lots continue to pop up. We take a step forward and then get pushed back a step.

Perhaps with Intercontinental leaving the Addison area, they are looking to open in Central Dallas? A Loews hotel returning to Dallas would be a good fit as well.
