My thought is, maybe this could be a space where Amazon could locate if they decide to come to Dallas. I believe Amazon wanted 500,000 sq ft of space readily available. Even if Amazon decides to go elsewhere, the office space could be filled just based on the number of corporations looking to expand...

Sorry, for the incrediblely horrible pictures. I got a few shaky pics coming from 30 towards Downtown. I also noticed what looked like to be LED floodlights over hanging the very top of the building. I think they are going to llliumate the front of the building where the AT&T logo is facing.

The lights on the Whitacre Tower is on tonight. The lighting is definitely similar to the BOA Plaza.

I don’t know if this was mentioned, the exterior lights are on. The building was lit in blue LED lights strips behind the glass panels on the crown. I wasn’t able to take a picture.

Remember, the building will sit on a 9 story parking garage podium. That’s probably the reason for the limited excavation. Which could mean the building will rise fairly quickly.

Why not HEB? There's a lot of competition in the grocery market in Dallas. Dallas-Fort Worth is Walmart's #1 market with over 130 stores. In the San Antonio area, (where HEB is HQ'd and where it is #1 in their market) there's not even 40 Walmart stores. HEB just can't come in and build stores. Walm...

A supertall does not need to be millions of sq ft to be over 1,000 ft. There are a number of ways to do it. -having smaller floor plates with a great number of floors -having higher height per floor -spire or crown Many of the largest commercial office buildings (by sq ft) are NOT supertall building...

Technically, the proposed building is "in the middle of things". It's close to Victory Park, across from Uptown, down the street from the Arts Distict and Klyde Warren Park. I can't think of a better location. And let's not forget the large millennial population in the surrounding area......
