This probably isn't the right thread, but the City of Dallas agreed unanimously to sign over a 99 year lease to the Meyerson Symphony Center. I'll be happy to see this place getting back into the shape it deserves.

If I'm not mistaken, they were hoping to do something similar over at the portal near the proposed South Asian museum. I wouldn't hold out much hope there either... but you never know. Maybe someone will surprise us one day.

For a big site like this, you would have expected to see zoning applications and approvals before closing. Some contingencies need to be mitigated before jumping into an endeavor of this scale. Kinda strange that that didn't happen... or, did we just not see it?

Those first six or eight units from the original townhouse developer are the most likely to complain. They aren't as tall as the InTown units, they have a MUCH larger rooftop deck, and other than the DART ROW, they are immediately adjacent to the development. But in the end... it is only eight units...

I would have preferred Sixty Vines... not impressed with Mexican Sugar, but lots of people love it. HA! I was thinking the exact same thing! Unlike you, I DO prefer a viable D2 route. But, this ain't it. In the scramble to appease everyone, they benefit almost nobody. This is a mess... and a VERY EXPENSIVE one, at that.

Quite possibly the most beautiful section of the Trinity River channel is up along the Elm Fork where Spur 482 crosses. You get a great view of it while on the Orange line which crosses here as well. It is as 'wild' as can be. It floods ALL THE TIME. The vegetation is lush and helps filter the trash...

Please, no... It'll be like that useless monstrosity they built over Harry Hines blvd.

There are plenty of other means they can use to calm traffic and allow safer access between the two areas. Cars don't 'need' to go 45mph through there.

Yeah, as usual, the owners get all the approvals ready for a major reinvestment and put it up for sale so the next owner can build the garage. Same was done with Fountain Place and other properties in Downtown. You get all the city approvals in place then the new owner has a chance to rethink plans...

If ever Harwood were to be converted to a pedestrian corridor, you could easily reuse ROW of Harwood along that garage for cafe's and such, without needing a change from the Sharaton. That is confusing... It was my understanding that they used the same technology.

Question... Does DCTA currently share tracks with freight? If not, it may be the reinforcing required on cars for them to share tracks, since I believe the Cotton Belt will continue to share tracks with freight.
