Did this one ever start? A post earlier said the expected start date was Oct '18 but the DMN article noted that "Current leases at Cedar Maple Plaza run through 2020, so any new construction is still a ways off."

Really, there is some crazy development going on in Austin right now. Very jealous. The republic is going to be a huge landmark on their skyline from the river due to its wide east-west presence.

Looking at the wikipedia GDP chart is interesting though... DFWs GDP grew 28 pct over that period, while Austin/RR grew 48 percent over that 5 year period, or 70% faster. Of course that increased growth rate probably isn't sustainable (and frankly DFWs 28 percent growth rate in a 5 year period itsel...

I'll take it! Definitely nothing to write home about, but I'll consider this to be more of a top tier infill project rather than an iconic project. Those are really good quality renderings too, kudos to the design and marketing team for pumping those out.

I'm not sure if they are going to start construction on the Canyon. I think TxDOT is debating different plans over the Canyon. The options they are considering includes demolishing the Canyon and rerouting 30 altogether. Not sure how that will pan out. But it's something they are seriously consider...

This one is turning out much better than I had anticipated. I remember how much concern we all had because they wouldn't release a rendering.
