Re: Dallas Smart District

Couldn't agree more, Ace. Socialism destroys everything it touches. Would love to see this part of Downtown activated. Never happen. Downtown is located too far away from the bubble that includes the Park Cities, Knox Park, Turtle Creek, and Uptown. Too risky! Downtown has been a shrinking office ma...

Re: Arts District: Flora & Olive Tower (~441 FT / ~39 ST)

It's only going to get worse if if these "protests" rioting and looting get worse. These central cities will die and there will be no new construction. Progressive socialism destroys everything it touches and I hope Dallas is wise enough to nip it in the bud.

Re: Downtown Dallas: Hillwood Urban's ~50 storey tower on former BoA motorcourt

Oh I knew this would happen. Did anybody not think that we would get this or another 20 story apartment tower? I thought maybe AMLI would buy this or somebody like them.

Skyline changers going up in cities all across the country but booming Dallas can't seem to get it done.

Re: KDC & Miyama Project - 30 ST

I dislike all of those examples too. Too trendy. At some point in time in the future people will look back and say oh yeah, I remember when everyone was doing that. Kind of like avocado kitchen appliances in the 70s. But you could change those out. These buildings can't be changed structurally in th...

Re: Shraman South Asian Museum

Wonder why the entire office space was not in one tower as a centerpiece? There’s no height restrictions there. It simply looks to crowded. What’s with all those podiums? It needs some useable green areas and space for pedestrians. Dallas doesn't do height anymore. Sorry. Those 1980s 50 and 60 stor...

Re: Arts District: Hall Arts Hotel & Residences

Tired of all the whiny gimme free sh*t crowd. You know who you are. Hahahahaha That's what you sounded like to your grandparents' generation when you were a smart 20-something! Somethings never change, and this is one of them! Throughout the ages, it's repeated. Millennial men. That's an oxymoron.

Re: Arts District: Hall Arts Hotel & Residences

Yeah Hall is a boomer and maybe older than that. Nothing against Hall or his development per se but it just seems that the can-do attitude of the city has changed into something else.

And yep, I'm a boomer and damn proud of it. Tired of all the whiny gimme free sh*t crowd. You know who you are.

Re: Arts District: Hall Arts Hotel & Residences

Hall has nothing up his sleeve. What a total disappointment this development is downtown. So he builds an 18-story tower that would look better out on the LBJ freeway. Wow 18 stories. Better stand back, that's approaching the 22-story new Dallas height limit. Too bad Dallas has been taken over by pr...

Yawn. Oh look, another 22 story office building. In a prominent location no less. Oh wow, a towering 22 story building holy cow. Seems like that's all we can build anymore. 22 stories. That's it. Zzzzzzzzz.

Yeah they should move it over by t...

Holy sh*t that looks good!!! It looks modern and sleek and elegant but even a throwback to the old 1930s skyscrapers in New York. At least at night. Well done!

^^in addition to my comment above, I like the original design if it has similar height to this new one.

Re: Downtown Dallas: Hillwood Urban's ~50 storey tower on former BoA motorcourt

I like the original design better frankly. But I will withhold judgment until we see the final design. If we ever see it at all. Will this be on the list of Dallas skyscrapers never built?
