Another busy week, the pool is taking shape as they pour the roof of the garage. They started lifting the supports for the 10th floor this morning.

I'm amazed at how well this looks. Too bad there isn't more of this all over the CBD. It's a stunning improvement. Hope this helps set a new standard for future projects. I have not been up close but it just looks like the attention to detail, colors, materials and lighting have all been really good.

Not that I am a huge fan of Olive Garden but I am surprised they needed to be convinced. Besides the obvious lack of restaurants in that area it appears that those at Cockrell Hill have thrived and the amount of traffic passing by on I-30 is significant.

Drove by here today, didn't realize how this building was set on the property until I saw it up close. Not at all what I was expecting, especially on the back side which looks great on the street. It was there that I noticed all of the tables and chairs ready to be placed. Hope they are open soon.

Working on floor 8 and FWIW I count five elevator shafts, four of them on the hotel side or where the alleged hotel is supposed to go. Should be one more parking level.

The powers that be in Texas, especially in the Governor's office know the impact bills like that cost the state and obviously there are elected officials on both sides of the aisle that also understand the impact. On a more exciting side note....the first residential tower floor is being poured today. I believe this would be the 9th floor which is also shared but clearly separate from the garage roof. From here the residential tower should start to emerge.

I am ok with them going to DC, we do really well scoring relocations and a larger more diverse collection of smaller companies is better than the 800 pound gorilla that demands attention and respect.

Will have to see how it gets reborn, that's a pretty big hole in the ground for whatever ends up going on top of it. Wade Park was a very ambitious project and maybe it would have done better had it come out of the ground on schedule and not get delayed. That delay seemed to benefit Legacy West.

Hillwood Urban's VP office project is on the City Plan Commission agenda for this Thursday. Didn't get a good look at the updated info but it's recommended for approval. No surprise there.
