Re: Uptown Dallas: Central Market at McKinney and Lemmon

I saw that too and I am assuming its a planned West Village tower on the Mutts land. The shape seems to suggest they only know that CityPlace Co plans to build something tall there and want it as a comparison to argue why their ask for taller isn't much of an ask. What Cityplace Co plans to build o...

I wonder if Birdwell is one of those that just doesn't support Texas Central. I have heard about those that really just want TGV because it IS subsidized and gives the state control over the tracks. With Texas Central they don't get that.

With that unlimited height restriction I would rather see something larger. That ^ would have been a nice addition to the skyline but would have also been built as a fortress tower. If they did something tall and mixed use that would be awesome.

I think everyone is right about the wall of parking garages but with that hotel emptying out right into the park and some minor changes to the parking lots on the east side you have potential to create a nice path from east to west. Is it really bad to allow building in flood zones? As long as the buildings are built to withstand likely/possible high waters (appropriate elevation, etc), I don't think there's a problem. When the politicians see how popular the route is, they will be tripping over themselves to build at least the SAT-DAL part of the triangle. Right.
