Is that how long ago they opened 1505 up for residential use? I remember that conversion but didn't realize that was 20 years ago.

Driven by it a few times and I like the way it looks, sort of a 3D AT&T logo sitting out on the plaza. I haven't seen it up close yet so can't make that call. It certainly is not the Bean and am not sure that's a valid comparison.

Any idea how this building is supposed to add up to 1 million square feet of space? If it's just 20 stories of office space (according to the dmn article as the rest of the height will be above grade parking), 1m sqft seems like quite a lot. I can't imagine they would, and it's not like the HSR operation is going to significantly impact air service between Dallas and Houston. Traffic between the two metros will continue to grow between now and the day it opens and will still continue to grow after it opens. This is just one more option ...

I do like the idea of having a leaning tower as part of the experience of this new development. A replica of whats there except one thats not in danger of falling over on everyone. I will actually kind of miss it.

From that picture above it looks as if there is more than enough room for two southbound lanes plus a dedicated valet lane for the hotel. What am I missing? Not only that but once that construction fence is lifted that sidewalk is wide.

With at least one of those proposed towers in that rendering being at least 60 floors it could be a total skyline changer. Although Reunion Tower area really needs something...

That looks nice and is obviously a recent rendering. Would be nice if Akard actually looked that nice when finished. However, I can see where cars waiting for the valet could pose a problem for cars driving down Akard.
