Re: Downtown Dallas: Statler Hotel & Residences + Future DMN Offices (Old Statler Hilton + Old Library)

If you want to pay 10$ to play on a pool table or ping pong then this is the place for you. Bowling will be 40$. If that doesn't bother you then it will be great. If you think paying that much for a pool table is crazy you have plenty of bars in town with an open pool table for a few quarters. http...

I believe that of the finalist cities DFW and Austin are the only ones without a Top 50 University in the US News and World Report ranking. Not stellar for us but Seattle is in the same boat with UW at #56 and clearly Amazon was able to grow there. Columbus Denver Miami Indianapolis I believe Unive...

Re: Downtown Dallas: Tower Petroleum - The Saint Elm Hotel (1907 Elm) & Corrigan Tower (1900 Pacific)

I drove by there a few nights ago, and there's no 'Cambria' or 'Cambria Hotel' outdoor sign yet. The only way to see its branding at a glance are flat-screen monitors placed at several of the front windows. They do advertising on the on court Ad panels for Dallas Mavericks home games. Perhaps they’...

Still the problem is that rents are much higher than what it costs to buy a house in Dallas. I bought a nice house in Casa Linda last year. I pay almost half of what a rent on a high rise in Uptown or Victory costs. I realize many folks would prefer to rent depending on their personal financial sit...

I’m glad they’re doing something with that space. I’ve hoped it would eventually be a restaurant, since the future Pacific Plaza park is going right across the street.

I (and I’m sure many others) appreciate the monthly updates, Tucy.

It always impresses when someone rhetorically asks “I wonder how well that building is doing” and I can answer with some seemingly-insider info off the cuff.

But, perhaps more intriguing, how do you get this scoop?!
