Re: KDC & Miyama Project - 30 ST

I really don't care for AMLI's 80's throwback architecture made that much worse by imitating Fountain Place. I think hanging garden architecture on this one is great for Dallas if they follow through. The problem is the wall created by the parking podium, which is the shame with so many of the new b...

Re: Corporate Relocations/Expansions

App based solutions are just a tiny portion of startups happening here. In my small circle of friends, I have one working at Spacex on their constellation project for satellite based internet access, one working at a startup building various electric self-flying planes from personal ones to medium s...

Re: Corporate Relocations/Expansions

Having grown up in Dallas and now being in SF and still following this forum, this is almost like reaction of Blockbuster's move to Dallas unaware about the disruption about to happen with NetFlix. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/donnafuscaldo/2019/12/04/mobile-trading-app-robinhoo...

Re: Corporate Relocations/Expansions

Charles Schwab’s move to DFW shakes up leaderboard in region already undergoing changes One would think, after losing Toyota, McKesson and now Schwab that somebody would start scratching their head and at least wonder why this keeps happening. Nothing to wonder about or scratch their head about. Re...

So is Lyft's. Their initial success was dependent on providing a better taxi service and from customer standpoint have succeeded admirably.

Re: Uptown Dallas: TC Oak Grove Tower (13 ST)

Too bad its not something similar to this that TC is trying to get approved in San Francisco. https://socketsite.com/archives/2019/06/taller-transbay-district-tower-slated-for-approval.html Trammel Crow Residential is now seeking approval for a 42-story tower to rise up to 444 feet in height on the ...

Re: Deep Ellum: Epic ~ Knights of Pythias Temple

Uber already has small discrete Office in West End. They have an idea what Dallas has to offer. Hope this HQ happens. Snapchat also small place in Deep Ellum. Its not a HQ. Their current HQ is in SF and they are currently finishing out a 1.1 million square foot new HQ campus there close to the new ...

Re: Corporate Relocations/Expansions

The current McKesson HQ is just a block from my condo in the city. Interesting that there is no coverage of this move in the local newspaper. With the tech boom, non-tech companies are finding it harder to justify the costs of staying in SF. Quite a few have moved out recently but vacancy remains lo...

Re: Uptown Dallas: Cedar Maple Plaza I,II & III (2301 Cedar Springs Rd.)

Only in Dallas could a building built in 1980's be a better urban design than one to be built in 2020's to replace it. When they talk about open space, did not realize they meant open space for cars.

Re: Dallas BikeShare: VBikes, LimeBike, Spin, Ofo, Mobike

Lol this encapsulates SF’s freak out over everything and nothing. Are there electric scooters? Umm, they exist, I suppose. A couple. That you can occasionally spot. But lol at “scores of companies studding SF sidewalks with an abundance of electric scooters.” At least in the financial district, the...

Re: Could Dallas land Amazon HQ '2'?

Pro tip: never trust Bay Area residents' perceptions of development or population changes. A couple of buildings is a building boom and a small population increase is a wave of people. Thank goodness that you are such a pro! What exactly are we gaining by further growth? When I lived in Dallas 11 y...
