Personally, the mid-century is my favorite architecture time in Dallas History so I am super glad we got to keep things like the Republic, Statler, and Alto211.

Considering how obtuse CVS is at making real urban stores its even more surprising that they keep the one alive on Main Street and the one in the West End.

They submitted renderings of the garage to the landmark commission a long time ago. If I could remember which meeting agenda it was I would go find it. There are multiple renderings of the parking garage for the museum out there somewhere.

Btw it appears they are finally tearing up the concrete from the roadway and the old Aston Park. They made progress on the parking lot side with multiple concrete pours and lots of site leveling work.

This tower is also on a relatively nice part of town in that its close to Klyde Warren, Arts District, multiple major bus lines and DART station, and a quick walk to Main Street and the soon AT&T District.

Highland Park Village station, now that would be hell freezing over. I imagine when the train passed underneath the voiceover would switch to a British butler and that riders would need to pass a background check to be allowed to get off the train.

The expansion is only on part of the Elm Street garage. You can simply look at the google maps and see its two garages merged together with the part that services Comerica Tower is getting an expansion.

The renderings clearly show the original building is gone. Lincoln is obviously glossing over the teardown hoping no one will object and make a thing of it. They have the legal right to do so but it is a lovely building I hate to see leave.

I am disappointed to see Trader Joes not take on a bit more and open a few more stores. I could see them opening a few more in inside the loop of and being successful in establishing more of a footprint to collect market share and increase overall brand awareness.
