Yeah, I imagine he would make more if he tore down those derelict buildings then. The land will go for a pretty penny for another apartment tower at some point. All his patience is paying off with the Central Market coming just down the street.

They put the building at the corner last I saw and the parking lot to the rear so I doubt they are building a parking garage for only a Total Wine. They even added some architectural interest to try to make the corner of the building with no door look better than the CVS in the West Village did.

The Farmers Market is finally being surrounded by residential development that will help sustain it. Before it was surrounded by warehouses that while useful to the produce suppliers did nothing to help the Farmers Market grow a sustainable business.

This is run by the Methodist Church on Oak Lawn which is very gay-friendly they masked the Methodist part of their sign after the National Methodist organization voted against new policies that would have made it possible for gay leadership and pastors in the church.

It's built into the old house next to the church. It has a walk-up window with a patio built on the side of the house. I am not sure if they even have an inside portion or if they basically made it into something like a walkup coffee window with patio furniture open to the public.

At the time I kept mentioning how they had nothing planned beyond the Mandarin Oriental Hotel project. All the renderings showed generic boxes on the rest of the parking lots. You could tell they were running out of steam.

This is a lesser known tenant but Two Sisters Catering which was located in a small retail strip on Monticello between Cole and McKinney Ave has moved their catering operation to Downtown Dallas. They didn't say where though.

So many developers don't like to complicate things with a mixed-use element. Most just want to throw up the residential units, lease them and sell. Adding ground floor retail complicates contracts and leasing management.
